Dr. Andrei Nutas
PhD in AI ethics and a decade in AI assurance, including verification work for the German armed forces. He leads Entangled Civilisation’s research and its work with the people who build AI.
Dr. Andrei Nutas is an AI assurance specialist and AI ethics researcher. He works on how systems built on machine learning and language models can be verified, validated and governed, and what they do to the people who live with them. Recent work includes a verification and validation study for the German armed forces and research with the US Space Force on decision making in conflict situation by LLM systems. Before that he spent a decade in software quality engineering, where he founded a centre of excellence for testing AI systems. He has worked with large language models since the GPT-3 beta in 2020.
He holds a PhD in AI Ethics (summa cum laude) from the West University of Timișoara and is the author of Artificial Morality: An Exploration of Moral Machines (Trivent, 2024) and editor of Classical vs. Euro-Transhumanism (Schwabe, 2026). Dr. Nutas organised the Beyond Humanism Conference in 2026 and Co-organised a summer school on the future of medicine and a debate series on transhumanist futures.
